While the biggest thing in poker may be taking place right now, the World Series of Poker isn’t the only popular tournament series on the schedule this year. For those who live in or just want to visit Asia, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is the next big thing on their calendar. Poker has taken off like a rocket in Asia, especially at THE Asian gambling capitol – Macau. Macau will once again be the host city when the APT rolls into town and the glamorous Galaxy Star World Hotel and Casino will be the hot spot for all of the APT action.
August will be hotter than ever when this event kicks off on August 12th with satellite action, and will continue to sizzle right through August 23rd when the final table of the APT Macau is played out. There will be plenty of action throughout this 12 day event, which is double the amount of days the event ran last year. And even though the APT event ran only six days last year, the turnout was fantastic and saw Yevgeniy Timoshenko take home HKD$3,812,200 for his Main Event victory.
